When I look around and see all the things around us, I come to the Lord with my questions, “Lord we’ve seen the work of Your hands, and experienced Your power, who will lead the future generations on the right path with so much noise around them?”
John 10:27-28 My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand.
Yes Lord, Your children will follow You and hear Your voice and no one can steal them from Your hands.
Later, I came across this beautiful article from Fr. Jospeh Edattu, Divine UK. The article speaks about how we can keep ourselves and our children strong in the Lord at all times, in good times and challenging times. It is through the word of the Lord. Fr Edattu, mentioned the following key points:
1. Treasure the Word of God in your heart: Read the scripture daily as a family and you will protect the holiness of your children and yourselves. Psalms 119:11: I treasure your word in my heart so that I may not sin against you
2. Ponder His word in your heart: Mother Mary pondered His Word in her heart, and all the things the Lord had done for her, even to the point of death of her son, she stood at the foot of the cross, she did not doubt. She was empowered by His word. Luke2:19: But Mary treasured all these words and pondered them in her heart
3. Recite scriptures: When Jesus was tempted in the desert, He responded with scriptures.
Prayer: Lord, give us the grace to read scriptures every day with all our heart, write them upon our hearts so we do not stop along the way. Even in the middle of our daily busy schedules and struggles, Lord give us Your wisdom and nourish us with Your word and strengthen us with Your power. Lord let Your will be done in time and eternity now and always in all things great and small in us, by us and through us. Amen.
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs to God.
