Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will be done

on

Mathew 6: 10 Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as in heaven.

Thy Kingdom Come, Thy Will be done When we say, “Thy kingdom come, we do not imply that God is not reigning now,” but “we excite in ourselves the desire for that kingdom, that it may come to us, and that we may reign therein,” as Augustine says. The words, “Thy will be done rightly signify, ‘May Thy commandments be obeyed’ on earth as in heaven, i.e. by men as well as by angels” (Summa Theologiae, St Thomas Aquinas)

Do you desire the kingdom of God? Then let us pray unceasingly, “Father .. Thy kingdom come”.

How much do we desire God’s kingdom in our life, and the life of all our near and dear ones, in our families, in our world and in the body of Christ?

In proportion to your earnest, sincere desire, keep praying unceasingly, asking God’s Lordship to reign over you and for His kingdom to come in you and in the lives of all His people.

Mark 1:15 “This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

In the Lord’s kingdom, Lord has outlined for us the commandments that we are to follow in love. We the children of the kingdom of God are not called to short change, to bargain, trade on or tweak them to suite us or our times but rather we are asked to pray always, without ceasing for His help, His strength, His courage, His grace to know Him and follow faithfully His will and for the fulfillment of His kingdom in our lives.

When we repent, when we believe in the gospel – the kingdom of God is at hand for us who believe. It is indeed the time of fulfillment of the kingdom of God in the life of a child of God.

– Power of His Word

Prayer: Lord I pray for pardon and forgiveness for the times I have failed in following You and Your commandments and for the times I have been ignorant about them. Open my eyes and help me understand the areas I need to change, where I need to make amendments so I can follow You and Your commandments faithfully and obediently in love for You. Grant me the grace to be obedient to You and Your commandments. Thank you for Your unconditional love, mercy and forgiveness for me Your child. Abba Your kingdom come, Abba Your will be done in me. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

The words, “Thy will be done rightly signify, ‘May Thy commandments be obeyed’ on earth as in heaven, i.e. by men as well as by angels” (Summa Theologiae, St Thomas Aquinas)

So all children of God keep praying – “Thy Will be done” When we do so, we pray that God’s commandments be fully obeyed on earth as in heaven.
