Day 12: Goodness (fruit of the Holy Spirit)
Galatians 6:9-10 So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up. So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith.
“Enrich your soul in the great goodness of God: The Father is your table, the Son is your food, and the Holy Spirit waits on you and then makes His dwelling in you.” – St. Catherine of Siena
Miss no single opportunity of making some small sacrifice, here by a smiling look, there by a kindly word; always doing the smallest right and doing it all for love. – St.Teresa of child Jesus.
Reflection: How can I grow in this fruit of the Holy Spirit? What good works is the Lord calling me to do for His glory?
When a person accepts Christ as Savior, they receive the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome their sinful nature and develop the character of Christ. And the character of Christ is marked by the fruit of His spirit. The Holy Spirit in me exhorts and helps me everyday to be a humble and good steward. To be more joyful and thankful and even do little things with greater love for my family
Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank you for the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Help me to act out of goodness of the heart and be obedient to God’s commandments and seek the benefit of others. Let my actions come from a place of selflessness and place the needs of others before my own. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
