Day 18: Gift of Wisdom (Gift of the Holy Spirit)
Acts 1:14 All these devoted themselves with one accord to prayer, together with some women, and Mary Mother of Jesus and his brothers.
St Maximilian writes: “the union between the Holy Spirit and the Immaculata is so inexpressibly perfect that He conducts His activity through her only. Therefore, she is the mediatrix of all graces flowing from the Holy Spirit… In honoring the Immaculata we honor in a special way the Holy Spirit.”
St. Ildephonsus, 603-677, Spain: “I beg you, holy Virgin, that I may have Jesus from the Holy Spirit, by whom you brought Jesus forth. May my soul receive Jesus through the Holy Spirit by whom your flesh conceived Jesus… May I love Jesus in the Holy Spirit in whom you adore Jesus as Lord and gaze upon Him as your Son” (Marialis Cultus, Part 2, Section 1, 26)
How can I grow in wisdom asking the “seat of wisdom”?
Prayer: Holy Spirit, You are the wisdom of Christ, You are the fire from heaven, You are the stirrer of Faith, You are the creator of everything from nothing. Give me Your wisdom, You are the word in action, Your word says “ask and you shall receive”. I am asking You, create in me a perfect vessel to hold Your wisdom, act in me O Holy Spirit that ,I the body of Christ will be the continuity of Your work in Christ, to teach, preach, admonish and love, to undo the world in God’s children and ignite the flame of Love in them, to shine more brightly for You and as You, now and always. I pray as the child of Mary, come powerfully as in the day of Pentecost, Amen.
James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
- Litany of the Holy Spirit
