Day 26: Hope
Romans 5:4-5 More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us
Do not be troubled or weighed down with grief. Do not fear any illness, vexation, anxiety or pain. Am I not here who am your mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not your fountain of life? Are you not in the folds of my mantle? In the crossing of my arms? – Our Lady of Guadalupe
What is an area of your life you are experiencing disappointment in? How is the Holy Spirit inviting you to hope?
Prayer: Holy Spirit, I am discouraged about [name sources of discouragement]. I entrust these situations to you and ask that you provide me with the grace and virtues necessary to abide in Your love even through the suffering I am experiencing. Please specifically bless me with the virtue of hope, so that I may find consolation in Christ and His promises to me. Amen.
Psalm 43:5 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help and my God
