Day 29: Gift of grace
Ephesians 2: 8 – 9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you; it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so no one may boast.
St. Rose of Lima: “The gift of grace increases as the struggle increases.”
John Newton: “I am not what I ought to be. I am not what I want to be. I am not what I hope to be. But still, I am not what I used to be. And by the grace of God, I am what I am.”
Grace is God’s unmerited favor and the source of hope, mercy, and transformation in our lives.
- How can I grow in faith and confidence in God to receive God’s grace in my daily struggles?
- Are there any sins that you think are beyond redemption? Can you offer it to the Lord to receive the grace of forgiveness and mercy?
Prayer: Dear Jesus, I recognize I am spiritually weak and susceptible to the wickedness in the world and the unholy desires of my flesh. I am not able to carry the cross of daily struggles on my own. I pray for a fresh outpouring of your Holy Spirit to increase my faith and hope in Your transformative power and redeeming grace to overcome the daily struggles of life and lead a path of holiness. I ask this in the mighty name of Jesus. Come Holy Spirit! Amen.
The Great Unity Prayer (From The Flame of Love by Elizabeth Kindelmann) With imprimatur and Nihil Obstat) : My Adorable Jesus, May our feet journey together. May our hands gather in unity. May our hearts beat in unison. May our souls be in harmony. May our thoughts be as one. May our ears listen to the silence together. May our glances profoundly penetrate each other. May our lips pray together to gain mercy from the Eternal Father.
May the Lord send His Holy Spirit upon you so your life is transformed daily and you experience hope, mercy and salvation. May He strengthen and build you up to be powerful witnesses to His gift of grace. With God’s grace and presence, may you become the salt for the earth and the light for your city.
- Litany of the Holy Spirit
