Come Holy Spirit

Day 35: Holy Spirit – Counselor

Isaiah 11:2 -4 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD and he will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears; but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.

“He pours light into our minds, arouses our desire and gives us strength… As the soul is the life of the body, so the Holy Spirit is the life of our souls.”  —St. Peter Damian

Do I to see others with the heart of Christ or judge based on what I see or hear from others? Am I open to the Holy Spirit’s move and willing to change myself, to only see others with the heart of Christ?

Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit, Source of all wisdom, I invite Your presence into my heart and mind. Enlighten my understanding, that I may discern Your will in all things. Grant me clarity and insight as I navigate the challenges and decisions of life. Break the hardness of my heart so that I may see with a heart of flesh and not with human eyes and ears. Help me to remember to always remove the plank from my eye before I open my mouth to speak about the speck in the ones I should love as my neighbor.

My wisdom and my understanding is increasing as I rest more in the Holy Spirit
