2. Word of God, Life giving – Source of life

At one and the same time—this is the wonder—as Man He was living a human life, and as Word He was sustaining the life of the universe, and as Son He was in constant union with the Father. Not even His birth from a virgin, therefore, changed Him in any way, nor was He defiled by being in the body. Rather, He sanctified the body by being in it. John 6:64 The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

Acts 17:28 For ‘In him we live and move and have our being,’as even some of your poets have said, ‘For we too are his offspring.’

Word of God is life giving and all powerful! Word of God is the source that sustains the whole universe. Jesus, the Word of God speaks Words of life to those who believe in Him, love Him and desire to remain true to Him. 

By man death has gained its power over men; by the Word made Man death has been destroyed and life raised up anew. That is what Paul says, that true servant of Christ: “For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. Just as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive,”  (On the Incarnation of the Word, St Athanasius of Alexandria, Chapter 2, The Divine Dilemma and its Solution in the Incarnation) 

All children of God are invited to turn to the Word of God, the Word of truth and to seek Jesus in His Word – the life giving Word. The one who sustains the universe sustains you too by His Word. The more you pray and reflect on His word and see through the lens of His word, His truth, you will see Him at work in all things in your life. Both the good and the bad that you encounter will be used for a greater purpose in your life according to His unique plan and will for you. His love will lead you. 

Do you desire to experience the life giving power of His Word?

The measure we receive is proportionate to the measure we hunger and desire for Him, His Word and His will. Pray and ask for the gift of faith, to believe in His Word and spend quality time with His Word, persevere in faith and stick to the Word of God, and remain true to His will always.

Allow the Word of God, Word of Truth to sustain, change and shape you. Allow His love, His truth , His Word to speak life of fullness into you each moment. Allow the Word of God to help you discern the lies that you need to weed out each day so you can continue to walk in Him, the Word of truth.

Thank You Lord for Your Words are spirit and life. Thank you Lord, You sustain me by Your Word, in You I live. Help me Lord to recognize Your voice, Your love and discern all things in the light of Your truth. Thank You Lord for You are the truth and You lead me in Your truth. Change me and help me reject the lies in my life and help me be steadfast in Your love, in Your truth, in Your ways. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
